The Art of Spending Money
I have only read a few pages, so these are early notes. The book is already making me think about whether money is helping me build a life I value or helping me meet expectations that may not be my own.
What I am thinking about so far
Spending seems personal
There is no single formula for spending well. A useful choice depends on the life a person wants and the experiences that shaped them.
Approval can be an expensive goal
Buying something to impress other people rarely creates the admiration or happiness we expect from it.
Expectations may grow with income
Earning more does not automatically create contentment when the idea of enough keeps moving too.
A good purchase should improve life
The better question is not whether I can buy something. It is whether buying it will make my life better or become a future regret.
