Don’t let me leave, Murph!

A tesseract for my library of memories

Which moment of your life do you want to revisit but only as a spectator?!

Time as a 4th dimension, what if I perceive all moments in time at once, move from one beautiful memory to another in space, just like Cooper did in the tesseract in the movie Interstellar. Cooper could see every moment from Murph’s life.

The tesseract was a collection of moments from Murph’s life where he could interact with her through gravity & morse code. I am not shooting for the stars here, I do not want to interact but I just want to witness.

Certain moments in life flash by, unless captured as a video, these moments live in your head, rent-free. I wonder what bits will be left of these moments & what if I forget some essential moments. I want these moments captured in the tesseract. Just like Cooper could witness Murph looking at the book shelf to solve morse code, I want to witness my life moments that way.

For ‘The Office’ fans, at the end where Jim with the help of the crew, collates a CD with all their moments from the beginning, that is a dream but possible with tesseract. If the tesseract could do me one better by segregating my life into various folders like ‘Moments of pure love’, ‘Moments of Strength’, ‘Heart shattering moments’, ‘Born with a silver spoon’, ‘Beautiful Places’, ‘Aakash & all that is defined Love’. This could be a far-fetched dream but I don’t know, sky is the limit.

Why do I want this? What will I get from this? I want to relive my moments to tell myself every now & then that I have had beautiful moments & that life has been unbelievably kind to me. I need these moments because I am dreamy that way. There are moments where I want to see my loved ones pave their way out of tough situations so I see & use that as a gentle reminder of ‘light after the tunnel ends’.

The tesseract will always have all the moments that I have witnessed & lived and it will also have moments from my loved ones lives too of which I was not a part of physically. I remember hearing from my friends how my mother spoke highly about my habits to my friend’s mother & she had to listen to a lecture about my good habits. It is a good feeling to know your parents are proud of you. Wouldn’t that be lovely?!

Tesseract is going to be a movie of your entire life.

How will this work for us humans? I want to interact with time as if it were space, meaning every moment of my life will be laid out, it should be a walk in the memory museum.

Why do I need a tesseract? I feel there are moments in life where you just want to retrace & get to see which moments lead to a certain conclusion. Another reason could be, there are various moments in life which randomly play in your head, I would want to relive it, share a laugh or two. I want to draw inspiration during my tough days, I remember writing my father’s initials on my palm with a smily to remind myself that my father sailed through years of tough life & he did reach the shore quite successfully. He did it, so this situation as compared to what he saw was quite decent & manageable. But sometimes this technique would get overused, then what ?! I want to see him deal with such situations, seeing him go through it would definitely etch my heart forever with belief. This is one aspect I believe will reduce the hopelessness of dire situations & ensure you never stop believing in hardwork driven miracles.

How will a tesseract help humans? Emotional reframing is what I look forward to. Let’s say you tend to think ‘I’m terrible at this’, reframing helps you rephrase to ‘This is an opportunity to grow’. I know it sounds cliched but when you revisit these moments of doubt & fear & now in reality when you look at yourself, you find yourself astounded. All that you feared, the steps you kept taking brought you here, made you what you are today

Grief strikes you hard, failures are crushing, but your human instinct of trying & endlessly trying to get what you want, definitely gets you in a better position. In this run, one can easily forget to reflect & see how far you have come & that there is hope.

Emotional reframing can help you build a different perspective & maybe even remind you about how strong you have become.

How is it possible to build a tesseract? Honestly I am not sure! Just putting in some understandable theory towards building a tesseract. We live in a 3D world, when you include time as a dimension, it becomes space time also the special relativity given by Einstein, he also described ‘General Relativity’ which says a massive object can bend spacetime, like a heavy ball on a trampoline. Let’s just leave it here & be mighty hopeful about the tesseract … haha … what do we have to lose!

The possibility of having a tesseract is beautiful & mind-boggling. But what if the accessibility is limited. I want it to be limited because while sailing in the doom-scroll era I don’t want the tesseract to be another escape from reality. Our brain does a great job in escaping reality by over thinking, blanking into the past, now I would have those escapes running as a movie in the tesseract, I don’t want to promote living in the past but I want the past to be a place to learn from, draw inspiration from, seeing your loved ones who are not around, move & talk lively. The tesseract visit could be limited to once a month, once a quarter, once/twice annually. Not always would be willing to wait a month to see your life so far, what then? There are ‘lives’ in video games, likewise I might want to get into the tesseract, I can do emergency visits thrice in 6 months, this seems fair enough, it will help people get in line. Also it would be great to have ‘TARS’ to help you out of the tesseract when you are done moving around your memories.

I would love to leave the idea of a tesseract here. Until then, let’s journal, all our moments, stumbling upon old writeups almost works like a tesseract, it takes you to the exact moment, where you were, what were you doing & what led to writing that heartfelt journal. Either click pictures of beautiful moments, write them down or play it in your head till we find the tesseract.

Let’s hope that the nature of time and space help us witness love transcend dimension and time.

End
